The LSU Foundation is the primary fundraising entity for academics at LSU. The LSU Foundation's sole purpose is to provide philanthropic support to LSU, which we accomplish through the work of a campus-wide team of frontline development officers and a support team of advancement services, communications and marketing, donor relations, financial and talent management personnel.

The LSU Foundation is a nonprofit, tax-exempt, 501(c)3 organization that encourages and receives restricted and unrestricted gifts. We also manage most of the investments and serve as trustee for most of the endowed funds and other private assets contributed for the benefit of LSU.

LSUS College of Business provides free masks to students H5/H6
LSU Shreveport’s College of Business is providing free masks to thousands of students to help them stay safe during the Covid-19 pandemic.
The College of Business mailed free masks featuring the LSUS logo to more than 5,500 current students in its undergraduate and graduate programs. They’re giving students around the United States a chance to show purple and gold pride while staying safe during the pandemic.

Spring Street Museum reopens with social distancing measures

Shreveport – The Spring Street Museum has reopened to the public.
A maximum of 10 individuals will be allowed in the museum at a time. All visitors must wear masks. The museum will be open for small-group tours and walk-in visitors from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Tuesday through Saturday.
The museum’s permanent collection of artifacts from Shreveport’s early history remains on display. Curator Marty Loschen will be available to provide information on the collection, the historic building that houses the museum and local history. The museum is housed in a former bank built in the 1860s. It is the oldest surviving building in Shreveport.
The museum closed in early 2020 because of the COVID-19 pandemic. However, museum staff members continued curating online exhibits on topics ranging from the Civil Rights movement in Shreveport to the 100th anniversary of women’s suffrage.
The LSUS Foundation operates the museum on behalf of LSU Shreveport. The foundation, aided by a generous gift from the Friends of the Spring Street Museum, recently completed significant renovations and repairs to the building.
“The pandemic actually presented an opportunity to have the time to make some repairs and needed updates,” said Laura Perdue, LSUS Foundation executive director. “I am looking forward to reopening to show the space off.”
